Artiicial Boundary Conditions of Absolute Transparency for Two-and Three-dimensional External Time-dependent Scattering Problems
نویسنده
چکیده
For an external problem in IR d (d = 2; 3) such that the unknown function satisses the wave equation outside a nite domain, we generate artiicial boundary conditions transparent to outgoing waves. These conditions permit an equivalent replacement of the original external problem by the problem inside the artiicial boundary which is a circle (d = 2) or a sphere (d = 3): The questions of numerical implementation of the artiicial conditions (that are non-local in both space and time) are considered. Special attention is paid to the reduction of necessary computational resources; in particular, a way of incorporating these conditions into numerical methods which makes the computational formulae local in time is suggested. The aspects of treating artiicial boundaries of a non-spherical shape are discussed. Numerical examples of two-and three-dimensional scattering problems demonstrate the accuracy of proposed artiicial boundary conditions.

متن کاملAn Algorithm based on Predicting the Interface in Phase Change Materials
Phase change materials are substances that absorb and release thermal energy during the process of melting and freezing. This characteristic makes phase change material (PCM) a favourite choice to integrate it in buildings. Stephan problem including melting and solidification in PMC materials is an practical problem in many engineering processes. The position of the moving boundary, its veloci...
متن کاملTwo-dimensional Axisymmetric Electromechanical Response of Piezoelectric, Functionally Graded and Layered Composite Cylinders
A mixed semi-analytical cum numerical approach is presented in this paper which accounts for the coupled mechanical and electrical response of piezoelectric, functionally graded (FG) and layered composite hollow circular cylinders of finite length. Under axisymmetric mechanical and electrical loadings, the three-dimensional problem (3D) gets reduced to a two-dimensional (2D) plane strain proble...
متن کاملAugmented Lagrangian method for solving absolute value equation and its application in two-point boundary value problems
One of the most important topic that consider in recent years by researcher is absolute value equation (AVE). The absolute value equation seems to be a useful tool in optimization since it subsumes the linear complementarity problem and thus also linear programming and convex quadratic programming. This paper introduce a new method for solving absolute value equation. To do this, we transform a...
متن کاملImplementation of D3Q19 Lattice Boltzmann Method with a Curved Wall Boundary Condition for Simulation of Practical Flow Problems
In this paper, implementation of an extended form of a no-slip wall boundary condition is presented for the three-dimensional (3-D) lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for solving the incompressible fluid flows with complex geometries. The boundary condition is based on the off-lattice scheme with a polynomial interpolation which is used to reconstruct the curved or irregular wall boundary on the ne...
